The key to becoming a roulette expert is to understand the risk and reward aspect of the game. Winning on a single number pays out 35 to 1, but the odds of winning are only 37 to 1. On the other side of the spectrum we have “outside bets”, which have lower payouts but higher odds of hitting. In other words: the riskier the bet, the more you can win.
Roulette allows you to bet on any combination of numbers and sections. Below are some of the most common bets:
- Single numbers (0 – 36): The roulette wheel has 37 numbers, including a green zero. You can bet on as many numbers as you want (called betting straight up), or place a combination bet with multiple numbers. This includes neighbor bets and wheel sections.
- Outside bets: In addition to the individual numbers, the table offers several types of outside bets. These include even chance bets with a payout of 1 to 1: red or black, odd or even, and low or high, and column and dozen bets with a payout of 2 to 1.
